Having a clear and recognisable shop front is an important factor when opening a new shop or updating an existing shop.

In all cases, planning permission is required for a new shop front and for certain alterations to existing shop fronts, such as installing security shutters. In addition, if the proposed changes to the shop front include adding or changing a sign you may also need advertisement consent. You will need listed building consent, if altering a shop front that is part of a listed building.

We can assist you in securing any planning permission that is required. We liaise with the Planning Department on your behalf, to make sure that the application, design and plans that we prepare, are up to the standard that they require to ensure a successful decision.
